Guacamole! Olé!

Let me paraphrase a Tweet by Josh Groban: “Not yet. Not yet. OOPS! Too Late!” – Avocadoes.

If you can find yourself a perfectly ripe, not veiny, not brown inside, beautiful soft avocado, TAKE IT! You need it!

Guacamole is one of my favorite dips that just satisfies so many cravings all at once: Salty, tangy, fatty, healthy, green, fruity, delicious!!

For a super simple single serving portion, I use my favorite home recipe that involves crunchy salty tortilla chips and half an avocado.

Ingredients

1/2 ripe Avocado, scooped from the rind
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Olive Oil
1 small-to-medium clove of Garlic, finely minced
1 1/4 tsp Lime Juice Concentrate (You can also use a freshly squeezed lime. In this case, I would squeeze to taste as I unfortunately almost only use concentrate.)

In a serving bowl, use a fork to gently smash the avocado. Add the remaining ingredients. Thoroughly mix and enjoy!

Additions

  • Bleu or Parmesan Cheese
  • Minced Red Onions
  • Black Pepper
  • Lemon Juice instead of Lime Juice

Taste Preferences

You can always add more/less of any ingredient. I left out the garlic, but found that it’s essential for my taste buds. There have been times when I added the entire bulb of garlic to a whole avocado 😛 If you think the oil is redundant, leave it out! If your chips are salty enough, you can likely skip the salt in the dip and just feed off the salty chips.

The only way to go wrong with Guacamole is to let the avocado be subpar. This is THE most important ingredient and should be held to the highest standards 🙂

Even this beauty is borderline too ripe. We caught it hours before it was too late!
